I've had a couple of people email me about the salad! One person even puts olives in it. Try it and let me know what you think! Also -- I know what you mean about the mint. If you plant it in a garden ppl warn that it takes over. I've only grown it in containers, though. You need grow a lot of it for all those drinks -- I mean salad. haha
I am a name changer, too! I don't go by my given last name, using my middle name instead. I was also told my name was planned this way so I could abandon the unspellablle Italian surname I was born with. And my partner was Dennis growing up -- a name he loathed; his mother called him Den -- and has been Denny for 30 years. He will correct people, even his siblings, because Dennis is simply someone else. Like you, I've had my name misspelled and misprounounced so much that even the effort is worthy of praise. I'll answer to Mia, to Gina -- I know my name is different, and I just assume if there's no one else around, that person is talking to me. For others, it's more sensitive. Aren't we all wonderful, wild, unique creatures? Thanks for sharing! Congrats on the script. Can't wait to see you moderate the SoCal SciWri event at the end of the month!
Hi. Loved the different stories/ insight. I will definitely check out the movie- always looking for a good movie to watch.
I’ve been very curious about the watermelon salad. I literally have so many fresh herbs growing that I love using for cooking or mojitos!!! I’ve used up all my fresh mint making myself, Peter and Zac the refreshing cocktail and I’m furiously trying to grow more mint as I type!! I’ve had leftover feta I need to use also!! There’s a great recipe trend going around with frying eggs on top of crumbled feta and sliding it into a tortilla with mashed avocado or avocado toast. I’ve known Latinos that salt their fruit (my childhood housekeeper taught me that when I was young) and I also grew up with all the local fruit stand vendors covering cut up fruit with tajin. I think the onions, basil or mint, and balsamic sound great. I’ve considered ordering this special salad at restaurants, but making it at home where it’s fresher and cheaper sounds like the best plan.
You definitely seem more like a Victoria to me. And I agree - who the fuck cares if one wants to change their identity, name, gender, nose, lips etc. We are here on this earth to be happy with ourselves and spread positivity and support others in need. People that judge harshly and are negative need to work on themselves and being happy and at peace within themselves. Thanks for sharing. Love u. 🌟

Thanks for the comment! I love the name Gia but I totally see what you mean. I'm sure everyone wants to call you Gina.
Loved this Victoria! Your stories are great! I was Sherri for 8th grade. Didn’t fit. So Sherisse I ended up as. And I always have to spell it.
